The last couple of years have been a bit of a washout for humanity, but 2022 is the year in which—hopefully—the fires of the pandemic will fade into mere embers and we can start getting back to normal. For Dr. James Kojian, a handsome aesthetic medicine specialist, it’s also set to be the year of health and beauty.

Why Handsome, Young, and Healthy are 2022 Buzzwords

According to Google Trends, there has been a recent increase in global searches for terms like “how to be better looking”, as well as keywords relating to “handsome”, “attractive”, and “beautiful”. On the surface, it seems like the pandemic has made us all a little vain, but of course, the reality goes much deeper. Our self-esteem and self-worth are tied to our looks. The better we look, the better we feel. It’s why we invest so much in our appearance, from teeth whitening and plastic surgery to fancy jewelry, luxury watches, and designer clothes. It’s not just about showing the world who we are and what we’ve accomplished, it’s about feeling good and reaping the rewards that come from that.

The Break is Over

In 2020 and 2021, we were all more anxious, more stressed, and more worried than ever before. Many of us have been forced to isolate and spend prolonged periods away from the ones we love. We’re eaten more, drunk more, and generally paid less attention to the way we look. As a result, we’re now desperate to get back on the horse and start looking forward to a brighter, cleaner, healthier, and more attractive 2022! Dr. James Kojian knows this all too well.

"The pandemic has taken away our self-esteem and confidence. It’s given us an excuse—and a very valid one at that—to focus less on the way that we look. But that’s beginning to change and I expect we’ll see a huge surge in weight loss books, programs, classes, and treatments during 2022”. We all put life on hold during 2020 and 2021, and as we move into a new year, it’s looking like the status quo will be resumed.

For Bruce Dizon 2022 marks the beginning phases of entering the Medical Aesthetic industry as an individual stakeholder.

In 2015 he qualifies as a Nurse with diploma and specialized in Neuro ICU, ER, Level 1 Trauma, and more recently travel Covid-19 ICU. He obtained his Aesthetic Injectables Certificate of Training in 2017. This opened the door to pursue his passion and pursue a career in aesthetics, opening My Youth Med Spa (www.myyouthmedspa.com) in West Hollywood in 2021. He is a trainer for Dr. James Kojian’s Advanced Botox and Dermal Filler Technique course. In an aesthetic setting, some say a holistic approach means discussing more than one procedure. Rather than just giving your client the treatment that they originally asked for, a broader range of treatments that complement each other can be discussed.

"While I agree with this, I see it as the second step in a holistic approach. The first, and most important, step is to understand the motivations for treatment, as well as understanding what the patient is trying to achieve to manage expectations. We are not just injectors and are able to look at the person behind the patient. I know that helping a client to look and feel better has a significant impact on how they feel in themselves and it can have a positive impact on their whole quality of life."
